Profile

“At some point in our life we learn, perhaps without even realising it, that work is the thing we do to fit in.”

— Adam Jocobs

To ease our social anxieties of belonging by gaining reputation and title, by seeing our value reflected in salary. However, at the same time, we are quietly discovering our talents and our interests. The things that make us truly feel alive and connected to others.

I believe that work is the thing we do to contribute. To follow where our values take us, pursue our curiosities and strengths, and above all else find genuine reward in contributing to communities we care about in either a big or a small way – both count.

My goal is to create technology companies that help shape positive societies. Societies that are more guided by shared values and contribution, than hidden anxieties and isolation.

And so I don’t really have a “career” I define myself by (and certainly not “entrepreneur”!), more pursuits. In doing so I’ve had a few careers… I started in consulting at BCG and PwC, co-founded and built THE ICONIC to shift the paradigm of Australian online shopping towards a spectacular customer experience, and am now helping to reshape employment marketplaces through Hatch. I’m curious, driven, a lover of the ocean and nature, and not afraid of a hard problem.
